Days in the Arts

Wednesday, July 06, 2005

It is Wednesday morning after a very busy Tuesday. Tuesday morning students went to creative expression with Deb, Stacey, and Michelle and continued working on some awesome creative expression projects. They then were off to arts workshop to continue their preparation for Thursday night sharing session. In the afternoon we visited the Norman Rockwell museum and students enjoyed the artwork of one of our foremost illustrators. They were given a tour by the staff at the museum and they helped students learn about the time period in which Rockwell worked. One of the highlights of the trip is seeing the studio in which Rockwell worked. It is wonderful to see the care he took in maintaining his tools and doing his work.

After the tour we all listened to the CITs tell the kids about their room scores. Hey! the rooms weren't too messy. Then Phil prepared us for our trip to Tanglewood to see James Taylor. Upon our arrival at Tanglewood we took a tour and then went to the formal Gardens tent. One of our talented CITs Eoghan gave a demonstration of Irish music and about that time it began to rain. After working on some DARTs magic the rain stop just in time for the James Taylor concert. In fact since our seats were outside, we had almost decided that we could not stay and the weather improved and the concert weather was really good.
